: Finally have some photos of VARDO on the water. She is 17' long and
: 24" wide. She was designed with a lot of stability and a
: large cockpit. With the addition of hatches it should make a
: good overnight boat. I covered this one in 7 oz nylon with a
: polyurethane coating and she weights 24 lbs rigged out ready for
: the water.

: Having paddled her a few times I am finding it easier to paddle
: than I expected and has a good turn of speed. Not a racer by any
: means but she it is easier to paddle than I expected. This was
: the first one I made from my full sized patterns and it was so
: much easier and quicker than doing all that layout on the
: plywood!!

: Saturday we did a paddle from the Dam down to Huntsville. First
: really nice day we have had in a while. With all the rain the
: water was really flowing so it made for a quick and easy trip. A
: couple of more photos.
