I built two Kayaks following Yost's plans (slightly modified). One with clear 16 mil vinyl. It took a while to figure out how to apply it since it works the opposite to ballistic nylon in the it stretches with heat instead of shrinking. Be sure to use stainless staples. I think the thin wooden strips look better for covering the staples. There are a few pictures of it at http://cruzkayaks.com. It sure makes a pretty boat.
