Hello all,
Just thought I'd mention that Pentax just came out with the W90 which ups the waterproofing from the W80 to 6 meters (almost 20 feet). I've yet to find a better kayaking camera than the Pentax Optio. It also has 30 fps video with 1280 x 720 resolution. I also like the 1 cm micro focusing feature. The older Optio's were awesome closeup cameras, so I can't even imagine the ability to focus up to 1 cm away from an object.
Thought I'd share it. Seems it's in the $320 range, but the good news is the W80 is down to $174 and you sacrifice 1 meter of "waterproofness" which still I think it would be a good camera. Most of the other features are the same. Amy had the W10, one of the first waterproof Optio's and it performed flawlessly until she left it in a taxi cab in Peru. It was an awesome closeup camera and sometimes in certain situations she would get a better shot with it than I would with my Nikon D80!
I'm saving my bubblegum money and hope to get the W90 very soon. Then I can start posting videos! Anyway, thought I'd share it because I just happened to go to Pentax's site to research the W80 and it appears the W90 was launched February 25.
