: I contacted Chestnut finishes and hear what they have to say.
Here's the answer i got from Chestnut finishes, 24 hours remains questionable

The part I don't quite understand is the application of shellac on top of the oil; this isn't something we'd suggest or recommend. Usually the oil is left as the final finish without anything else on top of it. Occasionally a wax will be applied on top but not a shellac.
I'm assuming that the shellac was dissolved in methylated spirit? What I suspect has happened is that the shellac coat has reactivated the Tung Oil, softening it again and bringing it back out of the wood resulting in the rough surface you are describing."
