Thanks, all! This was a fun build, and has turned out gratifyingly well. I'm definitely psyched about the shape.

The skin should be here in a few days, though I'm not sure when I'll be able to coat it once I get it on - the weather here has sucked for the last 4 months or more!

My camera is an obsolete HP something, which is large, clunky, ridiculously temperamental and eats batteries like crazy. I'm looking at a waterproof Optio, et al., when I finally kill this one (but, the darn thing just won't die, having been dropped many times, drop kicked in the desert sand, and, once, pitched into a lake).

As for lashing, these days I use lashing holes that I drill through the frames. I like how it looks and works.

As for the stems, I do lash them, some (also with lashing holes), but I usually just run some stainless steel screws and glue the heck out of them. Be sure to pre-drill and countersink the screw holes, if you go that route.
