: Why stain a wood boat? Totally ruins the whole purpose IMHO.
Well, after about 17 wood kayaks built, (all different) I enjoy new ideas, designs,color combos, hatches, skegs..etc.. I really like the look of Nick's stained Petrel.It enhances the wood...imho.
I don't want to kick the bees nest but WRC with West 207 and Epiphanies varnish does kind of have that golden yellow look....I wanted to get away from that.
Should have done more homework...but no big deal.
