The deck protrudes because I left the deck beams mostly protruding from the masik. It was a look I was going for - an experiment, as a lot of this boat was (seems like a lot of my boats are experiments, though....), that also makes for a stronger, yet smaller masik.
As for plans, well, the original boat, CMC #375, is documented in Harvey Golden's must have book "Kayaks of Greenland," as #67. There are no plans - I lofted it from the drawing, and made some modifications. I'll write up another construction guide soonish, though, if anyone is interested.
All told, it took 4 part-time days to build the frame, and another 4 to skin and finish her. A bit quicker than average, but I was motivated to get as much done as I could while I had some good weather days (yesterday - sunny and in the mid 60's, today - snowing).
