Couple questions that have probably been answered at some point on here, but I just can't seem to find it....

1. I'm doing external stem pieces on my kayak, my question is: When you attach the stem piece, do you glue it to both the deck and the hull sections, then make a cut when it comes time to separate the halves, or do you only glue it to the hull until it comes time to join the deck and hull together??

2. For the cockpit, is it better to install the combing before or after glassing the deck? Also, is there a certain combing design/method that I should be using. (it's a great auk).
