When I was in college spring break was normally spent working double hours to try to get enough money to stay in school. I have made up for it since and try to get a spring break trip or 2 in every year. This year was 2 short trips to Monterey. One with my younger kids followed a month later with one with my older kids. The first day was extreme wind followed by a morning of fun swell and an afternoon at the aquarium. Monterey has great marine life, the Monterey waterfront and Elkhorn Slough are great for marine and bird life. I also found out for sheltered paddling you can launch below the tennis courts at Pebble Beach. I took my son, son-in-law, and one of their friends.
