Wow, what a cool project! I have a little work left, but am closing in on it. It was a perfect South Dakota winter for kayak building... record cold, record snowfall. I even got snowed in a few days. Excellent for spending a little extra time in the shop.

There are so many different milestones with the project. I kept wanting to get out and finish task X, just so I could move on to the next. Strongback, forms, cut strips, route strips, strip hull, strip deck, sand.. and sand... and sand..., fiberglass, sand... etc. This is my first wood strip construction of any kind so I was new to most every segment of this project. Just a lot of fun!

Tonight I bonded the hull and deck together. It was definitely exciting, but what a mess! Hopefully I did a good enough job getting all those little bubbles out of the tape seam. There just isn't much room in there. I know it would have been easier if I had cut in hatches. I planned to, and still plan to; but after roughly 300 hours of putting this thing together, I just wasn't ready to start disecting the deck. Fun?? ...Well, I'll assess that in the morning when I find out if I am glued to my bed... or my wife, HA!!

For What it's Worth... I used the slow curing system three silver tip epoxy. I have nothing to compare against, but am finding it easy to use, very clear and no blushing. I am quite happy with it.
