: The first four boats that I built I used US Composites (435
: medium?). It was cheap and worked ok. I heard some great things
: about MAS and decided to try it on a BTD "Black Pearl"
: back in 2007. I haven't used anything else since. All the
: hardeners mix at a 2:1 ratio so you can tweak the mix for shop
: conditions. I use a mixture of 1/2 fast - 1/2 slow for just
: about everything with no blush. It also has very little odor. It
: wets out cloth very quickly and clearly. It's nice having some
: of their FLAG resin around in addition to the thinner laminating
: resin. It's quite thick and great for fill coats, fillets and
: gluing while using a lot less filler material. I've done ten
: kayaks/canoes commercially with MAS and see no reason to try
: anything else.

Dan...

I know that You mentioned low smell with MAS. You forgot to mention NO VOC's....much healthier on the body
I use MAS as much for the 2:1 easy ratio but a huge factor, to me , is the lack of VOC's

(With having left over resins or hardeners once you pick a brand a person usually end up sticking with it so as to use the left overs)
