I have a simple method for cutting scarfs in thin strips, using a miter or chop saw. I square off a couple of guide blocks, same thickness as the strips, and stick them to the saw base using double sided tape; the space between them is a snug fit for the strips. Then I rotate the blade to the required angle, insert the strip and cut. The blade tends to pull the strip into the saw, so I put a spring clip on the strip at he end of one of the blocks to stop that happening. Gives a very quick, very clean cut.
