: I have a simple method for cutting scarfs in thin strips, using a
: miter or chop saw. I square off a couple of guide blocks, same
: thickness as the strips, and stick them to the saw base using
: double sided tape; the space between them is a snug fit for the
: strips. Then I rotate the blade to the required angle, insert
: the strip and cut. The blade tends to pull the strip into the
: saw, so I put a spring clip on the strip at he end of one of the
: blocks to stop that happening. Gives a very quick, very clean
: cut.

Hi Terry,

Jeff's not cutting strips, like for a stripper, he's cutting stringers for a SOF, much thicker wood. Can certainly be done by hand but it's a fairly slow process if you're making lots of cuts.
