Skin-on-Frame: Leather Deck Lines

Planning on using leather deck lines for my SOF. However...no where in the literature does it specify what diameter. Seems the only choice I have is 1/4" Latigo Lace but it only comes in 72" lengths and 1/8" Latigo Lace which can be bought by the spool. Seems the 1/8" would be too thin. Any thoughts as to what others are using?
