: Really my nephew was interested in building a SOF canoe, he lost
: interest in the kayak... he wants his girlfriend to be able to
: go with him.
: I would be interested in the plans, the ones I have found all use
: willow ribs which I have never seen locally, Is this the same
: way you are building yours?

The pattern is Chestnut Prospector 16' long 35" wide I got the offsets for a book originally set up as a stripper; I offset the dimensions to accomodate the 1/2" stringers. I am actually building three boats each with different woods for the stringers , one using hickory, one red oak, the the last with western red cedar. Stringers for the first two are cut to 1/2"x1/2"; I am presently gluing the sections together to gain the lengths needed. Haven't cut the WRC yet it will probably be 3/4"x3/4".
