: Some of these slow hardeners are really S_L_O_W and are designed
: for boat people who do summer repairs in 80 - 100 degree temps.
: Chances are that if you put a heat lamp on it it will cure up
: pretty good. I would do a test on a small scrap and put it
: somewhere warm like next to your furnace or out in the bright
: sun with some plastic over it and see how it goes.
: I once used RAKA slow hardner and went through the same thing. I
: called and they told me what I'm telling you.
Well it is from a co. in LA and sold at their locations throughout the south.
They said this would kick in 20-25mins at 77 degs and faster at 90 degs. min. temp.65 degs.
I started my wood stove in the basement and did some more testing. At 80 plus degs it did kick. (left a rude amount of blush)
One of the original tests still has not cured and it was near the woodstove with temps around 75.
On the second set of testing I stired the hardener.
I'll be on the phone mon. am and may end up taking it back. I bought this to do a hull on the new yak and had the slot of time open saturday ..... &%$#@%^^&$$$###^%&*_)
Going back to West System....
thanks,
