I'm doing the final sanding on my 'Spring Run' and have inadvertently exposed numerous small patches of the fiber glass tape that holds the hull and deck together. A thin layer of resin doesn't make them disappear. It's on just one side but is a real eyesore--far beyond the '10 foot' rule. My first impulse was to slap an 80 disc on the ROS and sand it all off (tape and resin) but I'm leery of sanding down to the next layer of glass and making an even bigger mess. If I sand carefully down to the glass in those spots and then sand with higher grades until ultra smooth will the resin work better? I'm not too concerned about losing strength as the tape is 8 oz. If I can't solve it any other way I may just add a strip of thin veneer that matches the wood. Any help in solving this would be greatly appreciated. Here is a view of the bow section. You can see the fiberglass pattern along the tape. The white patch at the top right is glare.
