: I'm doing the final sanding on my 'Spring Run' and have
: inadvertently exposed numerous small patches of the fiber glass
: tape that holds the hull and deck together. A thin layer of
: resin doesn't make them disappear. It's on just one side but is
: a real eyesore--far beyond the '10 foot' rule. My first impulse
: was to slap an 80 disc on the ROS and sand it all off (tape and
: resin) but I'm leery of sanding down to the next layer of glass
: and making an even bigger mess. If I sand carefully down to the
: glass in those spots and then sand with higher grades until
: ultra smooth will the resin work better? I'm not too concerned
: about losing strength as the tape is 8 oz. If I can't solve it
: any other way I may just add a strip of thin veneer that matches
: the wood. Any help in solving this would be greatly appreciated.

Not all fiberglass wets out completely clear, the heavier the cloth the worse it gets. 8 ounce tape is likely the problem, that's awfully thick,
