Hey Builders,
Here is my winter project, a new strip Outer-Island. After several SOF I wanted to build another strip. The Outer-Island fit what I needed very well. I used all WRC and 4 oz glass. The strips are beveled and milled 3/16. The coaming is carbon along with a few little parts. The weight is 35 lbs before the foot braces were installed.
I still have the deck rigging to install but I couldn't wait, so Saturday on a 22.5 mile race on the Mississippi river I made the second outing and WOW I turned my best time for the race. The kayak performed fine. Jay Babina designed a great kayak, lots of you already know that. I am not the best picture taker but here is what she looks like after the race (number still on).
I would like to thank contributors to this board for some fine ideas and advice.
