I very rarely use my sea kayak nowadays (Ches 17) but when I do, I find my wing paddle to be a bit of a nuisance compared to a euro paddle. The wings are great for boats that are narrow at the catch i.e racing kayaks, surfskis but using them with a wide boat like a sea kayak, in my experience, translates to bashed and bloody knuckles. As well, the wings are not as versatile for the various kayaking strokes which is important if you don't use a rudder.
