I cringed when I first ready what were thinking. All I could see was blood and gore. After thinking on it as long as everything is indeed mounted on the table I have to agree it is doable. I restore a lot of old machines and safety is always first in my mind. As long as the saw it mounted SOLIDLY to the box you make, the box is STRONG. (don't just nail some plywood together) and it is stable and not going to tip, then yea.

I had a horrible looking injury to my thumb with a TS and I did nothing wrong. Just had my hand in the wrong place at the wrong time. That has me a little more cautious. not scared, but I just pay more attention now.
