Hi Phelps,

Glad you found that valuable. My skeg is located offset in the day hatch so the rear is about 28" behind the center of balance on the kayak. Dimensions are 6" high by 10" long so about 30 square inches. I am sure you could make 25% variations either way and still be in the ballpark.

You mentioned surfing and though they are not many skeg deployed shots you will find some long boat surfing stuff mixed in on my Vimeo page.
