: scarfing a bunch of stringers on my sliding miter saw. To get
: the really shallow angle I just cut a 2x6 at a 45 degree angle,
: clamped it to the fence, and clamped the stringer I wanted to
: scarf to the bevel end of the 2x6. Only downside was the way the
: offcuts would go flying out of my garage and hit my tree. OHSA
: would probably not approve.

Might look around at Jeff's pictures of his mangled thumb from one of those cut off's flying out of his table saw and caught his thumb. There's usually a reason OSHA gets upset.
