I've got a cheap one, bought at Home Depot, has a rip saw on one side (fewer teeth) and a crosscut saw on the other (many more teeth). It works extremely well, it's the one I use for my classes and cost maybe $20. Don't need to pay a ton to get a decent Japanese saw.
