I'm planning on trying a centrally located keel/skeg ala Don Goss, but making it thick or wide enough so that it won't be too fragile for surf launches. Since it only has to be about an inch proud of the hull, a 3/4" thick piece glued on with 3M 4200 would probably stay bonded, and yet be removeable if nec., the advantage of 4200 over 5200.
