hi,

if you care about weight don't use filler but trim the stem instead. you can get by with very little filler this way. Or you could trim the strip - this may be easier.

: The bevel you plane onto the internal stem has to at least sorta
: match the angle of the strips will meet it. Still if you staple
: at the point where they meet it'll work, just later after it's
: stripped, fill in the gap with thickened epoxy.
