Yeah but if you live with anyone you really don't want to use polyester, it's um....somewhat smelly. (unbelievably smelly)

You most certainly don't want to use it in your basement, it's also quite flammable.

Nice thing is it sets up really fast, sometimes too fast, have to work very quickly, gel times of 15 to 20 minutes is common and it's hard to use in an hour or less. Other thing is gelcoat is easy to find and makes a nice hard surface on the glass work. I've uses several hundred gallons of the stuff, which is small change for a production shop (they buy railroad tank cars of resin).
