: I had to store a partially built S&G for a couple of years
: outside and although it was wrapped up, the wrapping leaked and
: now I've got water stains all over the un-glassed deck. There is
: also some black mold stains in a few places. Is this
: sand-out-able or am I facing a paint job for the deck? I'm
: afraid the outer layer of the marine ply is too thin and the
: stains would go all the way through the layer. I guess if I
: can't get the stains out I could just stain the whole thing but
: that's not what I really want to do. Thanks for any help you can
: give.

It may not be mold, some woods turn black with exposure to water long term. I'd recommend not using chlorine bleach on the wood, it tend to turn the wood yellow and it's uneven and there's no pratical way to neutralize it once applied and will effect anything you put on it later on.
I'd instead recommend oxalic acid. It comes as a crystal that's disolved in warm water and after it's done it's thing water washes it away so it'll stop working. Most pharmacies have it but you'll have to ask the pharmasist for it.
