: Looking for some bedtime lecture... What is or are the best novels
: you read about kayaking or canoeing ?
: I've read Chris Duff's books and Don Starkell's (a bit of a
: dissapointment).
The "Starship and the Canoe" by Kenneth Brower followed by "Baidarka" from George Dyson. Then if you are craving more Dyson, you can read "Darwin Among the Machines" and "Project Orion". Kon Tiki is a good read.
On the longer list but not novels is Zimmerly's Qayaq, Harvey Golden's Kayaks of Greenland, Coast Salish Canoes by Leslie Lincoln, Types of Canoes on the Puget Sound by Waterman and Coffin(1920), Canoes and Kayaks of Western America by Bill Durham (1960), The Canoe by John Jennings, Bark Canoes and Skin Boats of North America by Adney and Chappelle,
