Yup, wrapped the saran wrap that way. But I did give it a quick test on the saw horses with no skin. Its solid as a rock, no outward deflection of the hull and the gunwales don't even sag much. I was more worried about the inward compressive forces of the water, but it seems to hold up to that just fine.
