: GLOBS...but think that might just soften em up.
: SOMEONE...HELPPPPPPPpppp! vic in Kansas
Can you sharpen a chisel to shave hair off your knuckles?
If so, sharpen a 1" or wider chisel and pare off the tops of the globs.
Do a LITTLE at a time. Move the chisel edge back and forth like a saw,
AND / OR slice pieces off by skewing the blade edge in the direction of thrust.
Don't try to lop off a big thick piece because you'll end up having to apply your full body weight, the chisel will
get out of control and you may rip out more than you wished.
NEVER work with the blade edge perpendicular to the direction of thrust because this
is a chopping cut, like an ax. It require much more force and is why people hurt themselves when their tools
jumps out of control when the force is released.
Ever wonder why scimitars, sabers and samurai swords are curved? Because they are slicing weapons.
When you skew the angle of a chisel, plane, or scraper you slice and make a clean cut with less force.
Rest your hands on the surface and push the chisel with your fingers ONLY so the
chisel will never thrust out of control.
I would put a piece of fiberglass over the veneer, fill the glass then sand smooth.
Good luck,
Rob
