Here's a neat little clamp. It would be pricey to have enough for every station mold, but it would be easy to make something like this yourself.

It goes between your bar clamp and the strip to give an additional sideways force while the bar clamp provides a downward force. By the way, the guys at Highland Woodworking were awesome. I found them through a Google search for best resaw blade for a bandsaw. Their blade came up in almost every result. I called to ask blade questions and the guy was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I linked the picture from their site, but heck I'm advertising for them. Surely they won't mind!

Anyway I have used wedges in this manner but this just makes it a bit easier. I will probably get a few of these for those tough-to-manage strips.
