: Good day Vic,
: I have done wood and shell veneers on wood surfboards with no
: problems for the 'glass adhering. Bloodwood is a very oily wood
: and there could be a slight chance that it could have problems
: adhering, but it should be okay, especially in veneer
: thicknesses. By the way, FYI- Bloodwood turns brown over time
: with UV exposure so be sure to use a good UV topcoat.
: I agree with Rob- sharpen a chisel and shave the globs off, OR you
: could use a straight razor but not slicing- use it like a
: cabinet scraper with the blade upright and scrape back and forth
: to scrape away the globs.
: I would really like to see a pic of your inlays.
Wasn't worried about the glass sticking as much as it dropping into all the cutouts. the veneer was On TOP of the cedar...not cut in. Rob's directions were GREAT...will attempt that when the globs toughen up a little more ( putting light bulb under hull to help speed that process). See where site tells how to include pic but not sure what an URL address is....hmmm...time to call kids/grandkids again. wish me luck, vic in Kansas
