Not at all, I need a good prodding sometimes. But of course I have your book, are you nuts? And who is this Nick you speak of? Not that guy who became a movie star? What would he know about all this?

My rotary cutter has been a godsend, but we all know the instant I endorse it yours will go dull in two swipes and you'll want to throw it at me. If it can be sharpened, I have no clue as to how. Whatever, as a leftie there are two things I've never been able to master: scissors and calligraphy.

Two reasons for the dedicated half-sheet of plywood cutting board: for a cutting board, of course, and for making a big clean flat space to lay cloth out. I mean, you don't seriously suppose that I have a bunch of clean flat open space in my shop either, do you? Heck man, I don't even have a shop! I work under a carport. My workbench is a pile of rough cut cedar lumber and a couple sawhorses. I keep a butter tub full of 1- to 5-oz fishing sinkers for "paperweights" (in addition to my array of more serious lead weights).

I like Dan's comments too, as usual. I could have written most of that myself. Cutting bias strips actually greatly reduces my waste, and I'm all about reducing waste. Hate throwing anything away. Go visit a landfill sometime, folks.....
