I use the old tried and true fiberglass packing tape. I like it because I can pull it without breaking. Make sure you wash the deck and hull so there's no blush which will compromise the adhesion. if there's any residue left, a quick wipe with acetone or lacquer thinner cleans it right up.

I use 4 oz 2" glass tape on the inside seam. For the outside seam, I cut 4 oz cloth that I drape over a 8 ft 2 x 4 and cut with a single edge razor cutter (carton cutter) using a metal straight edge. I cut it on a very slight bias.
