This is normal. If you have the cockpit opening cut open already...rap any forms you can reach with
a hammer or something to break those loose.

What i do... Slap the hull or deck with your hand a few times in different spots, try to pry apart again. You could slide something thin like a peice of aluminum plate between the halves and tap that with a hammer on each form to loosen each form up. Continue
trying to pry the halves apart by hand.

Once you get one half to peel up a little you can try to rap on whatever forms you can reach between the widening gap...
Once you get one half off....you got it, just tap on the forms still sticking til they break loose.

: Hi folks,

: I'm going through my first boat build right now, and the epoxy just
: finished curing on the hull. I went out and cleaned the seam of
: the deck/hull joint by slicing through any epoxy that might've
: gotten through my painter's tape/wax paper with a bonsai saw,
: however I'm unable to remove the hull after giving it a
: significant tug.

: Is there any suggestion on how I can go about doing this? I imagine
: some epoxy might've leaked through as it was and adhered it to
: the wood, but there's no way for me to knock out the forms since
: the deck is still intact (which I'm nervous to try to remove
: because it's unsealed/glassed). Any input would be appreciated.

: At this point I'm thinking the safest way would be to take a long
: japanese saw and try to cut the forms in half, but I'm not sure
: if that would even work.
