After a week of hot towels, spray bottles and heat gunning I removed the strap and blocks pinching the stern together. Good news it took the re-shaping very well, to the piont that I didn't even need to fire a staple in ( I did anyway).
This technique worked amazingly well and I have to thank everyone on this board for thier advice, at first I was going to cut this area and start stripping from a different angle but thanks to everyone here this was alot less painfull than it could have been.

Ian if you are reading this then I have a question... after looking at your pic you were on your sixth strip when you did this pinch as I am on the fifth, question is how did you proceed? Cheater or no? Since you went through the same recently I really find myself hanging on your advice. Thanks.
