More laws, just what I want (sarcasm) ...perhaps I shouldn't be paddling to Hudson Bay next month because a polar bear might get me (more sarcasm). Better to live and experience life than to allow government regulations to guide me gently and quietly into old age, the geriatric hospital and the inevitable silent death that no one cares about (read: boring death). If I die while I am out there, I die with my boots on, not my back full of bedsores while uncaring attendants gab in the corner while ignoring the fact that I need my meds. Kayaking is a risk sport, most folks make it through the day, very few don't. I'd rather take another run over the rapids rather than not do my kayaking trek and read about someone else who took the risk and wrote about it. Always, my heart cries out for those who don't make it through the day, but sooner or later, we have to die, it's how we die that matters.
