Sounds like a fun project. I have a 1936 Peterborough Canoe Co. PAL dinghy in need of some TLC as well. It's all wood, all bright. I received it 4 years ago and haven't had any time to work on it. At least it's in a dry place. It'll super stable so it should be perfect to teach my two daughters and wife some beginner sailing.

If you want some bright work pointers, I think Bill Hamm has done a few cases of varnish in his day (or was that in one day)! ;)
