: Hi Malcolm,
: Right now I'm trying to get my garage under control. Made huge
: strides in that direction yesterday, should pretty much finish
: that today. Having a lawn tractor and cart makes for lots less
: lifting :)
: Once the gargage is ready, then I'll start on the basement where
: the shop is. Driving me crazy (assuming I wasn't already) having
: no shop and no way to get at the tools.
: All my stationary tools aren't anymore, they all are on wheels. The
: Bosch folding table for the tablesaw is an excellent tool for
: this, allows the table saw to "hide" using much less
: space than it normally would and still a couple minute job to
: get it ready for use. Even with the much larger house I find
: that storage is at a premium. Seems you can never have too much
: space :)
: Soon I'll be hanging the kayaks in the garage, with a 10' 6"
: ceiling height, there is lots of room for kayaks in the ceiling
: out of the way yet still easy to get at for use. With a 3 car
: garage I have room for perhaps 15 or 18 boats in the ceiling :)

Just got my workshop back under control after several weeks of frenzied garden activity, new pathways, planting, tree felling etc. which left the workshop looking like the sorting floor of a busy recycling depot. I decided much of my problem was lack of space, or more specifically too much of it tied up storing boats. Felling the trees is giving me access to a fence where I can now store my very small sailboat vertically, and a new extra-wide pathway alongside the garage has enough space for an exterior canoe and kayak rack. My wife thinks this is all a great coincidence, poor dear! The workshop is slowly returning to its (relatively) spacious, organised look of a few years ago, before the recent spate of boat building. This is great as I will soon be able to start on my next project. er, that's a new boat build - you had to ask?
