Cheers Bill, the length of the stock isnt an issue as I can make sheets any length/width I want up to 30ftx20ft.
I'm well used to the itching too, Been there, done that!!!
I was thinking about making the initial sheet from 300gm mat, and then laminating a 600gm mat inside once I have the initial shape. May even add a lyer of coremat (300gm) and 300gm mat instead to give a bit more structure. Overall, a 900gm construction, whichever way, would be fine I think. Just not sure about the comparitive weight to ply and epoxy/roven laminate, but I wouldnt thikn there would be much in it.
