: I went to West Marine to pickup a tube of Lexel/3M 4200 - they
: either had a small squeeze tube of 4200 for $14 or a 3x+ bigger
: caulk gun tube for $21. Well, my spasticness got the best of me
: and bought the bigger tube.
: I'm not sure how much I need - but I'm fairly certain it's less
: than this whole bigger tube. Since it's used in a caulk gun, you
: slice the applicator and puncture the head of the tube itself.
: Does anyone have any recommendations for how I could close this
: back up for use later? My father-in-law mentioned something
: about pushing a nail down it (and then continued with cutting
: out hardened 4200 later), but I'm not 100% certain about that.
: Ideas?
: Thanks.

Hi Doug,
I unscrew the nozzle, put thin plastic (clingfilm/saran wrap) over the tube threads and screw the nozzle back on, leaving the nozzle full. This sets in the nozzle over time but the stuff in the tube stays good for quite some time. I've gotten over 9 months usage out of them that way. Stored in a cold/cool place.
