: Before you take it off the forms or decide whether you need to, can
: you use a laser or string to pinpoint exactly where you're off
: and by how much? It will really help you a lot. I'd also suggest
: running a string along the sheer on both sides and then
: measuring the length to see how much you're off in that
: dimension as well. It will help you determine which side you
: need to shorten to get things back. If you don't have a laser
: you can probably find the problem by running a string on either
: side at several locations.

I found time with a laser today. The deck is dead straight from the 8th station back to the sterns 15th station the end form is out by about an 1/8th.

The deck is square from th e 8mth station forward to the 3rd station then is off by an 1/8th to the second and an 1/8th in the front stem.

Flipping the boat over with the laser; the hull is straight from the stern untill the second station. I plan on using an external stem and I have planed the end strips up till the 3rd station for this.

My thinking is if I use the external stem I can shape this to fix the difference. yes/no?

The deck being off doesn't concern me as much because I can just reshape those forms to looks good and be done with it. Since they will never be in the water what does it matter yes/no?
