The section profiles are supplied on one sheet of paper (see image below, think of it the other way up) with the centreline perpendicular with the edge of the paper. The shape of each station is transferred using holes cut through the paper along the centreline to line up the plans with a line drawn perpendicular to the straight edge of the MDF. Only the shape of the hull is cut out with vertical cut down to the edge of the MDF from the sheerline. Line up the base of the centreline of each station with the string down the middle of the strongback. Keeping the edge of the plan level with the edge of the MDF for each station means that the designed rocker is transferred.

The waterline is also transferred from the plan and used to check check for twist in the alignment of the forms visually. I drilled a hole through where the centreline and waterline cross to check the vertical alignment once all the forms were mounted on the strongback. I had to make very few adjustments.
