Beginning to build Nick's Mystery!

This is my plan for the scarfing jig I used 5 years ago when I built a Great Auk. As you should be able to see from both this plan and the photos of the jig on my Flickr page, your hands are no where near the blade.
The trick to this jig is that you never push it all the way through the blade, just slide it forward 6-7" then pull it back.
I've also never experienced the cut off flying through the air.
(Of course take your own precautions. )
