Most of the time those polyurethane glues get enough moisture from the humidity in the atmosphere to set up. If you are worried that you won't get enough moistness to activate the glue, it is a simple matter to put the glue on the edge of one strip, and wipe the mating edge of your second strip with a damp cloth or paper towel. Then slide them together and staple or clamp them into place until the glue sets.
