: The CLC kit for the Petrel contains two 12 yard bolts of 4 oz.
: "E" fiberglass, one 30" wide and the other
: 50" wide. The widest point on the 17 foot hull is 26";
: on the deck 25". As the kit comes with no directions (other
: than Nick's book), I am trying to figure out what the kit
: designer had in mind.

I just completed a Petrel from CLC. I chose to cover the deck with 1 layer of the 30" wide e glass. I purchased 3 yards of 6 oz s glass for the inside hull, 15 yards of 4 oz s glass for the inside deck and the hull (two coats). I also got a yard of carbon fiber for reinforcement around the cockpit area.
I based my purchases on Nick's book. Now I have lots of extra e glass but I have no complaints about that.
