The wood working on S&G is quicker, But the epoxy and Fiberglass takes the same amount of time, I highly recommend the book by Morris on S&G construction as a reference. as far as big and stable the largest Chesapeake from Chesapeake light craft while a bit slower to paddle has a good following.
