Thanks Clayton,
I am totally excited to be moving forward with this project!!
I have a day off from work today and will be in the shop till my dinner date this evening.
Starting early in the shop this morning, Im nearly completely rid of this little slump I got myself into. Hooray!
By the way.... Sending you a HUGE Thankyou for getting those measurements on the #3 crossection. Moving on with confidence once again~!
The White and yellow paint design looks so sharp I think.... It was my daughters idea... I have a kevlar QCC600 I bought to do the 460 mile YRQ race in the Yukon. She insisted that her Sea Flea matched Mommy's kayak. We even had to go to the hardware store and match the paint. I laughed, but it was fun. I asked her what color scheme she wants the next one, and she wants the same again... so we'll probably be doing another as well. I was kind of hoping she'd say red or something else, but oh well. My next boat will be the Sea Bee, so we can have a spare kayak on hand in case someone wants to go with... Or on the days I dont want to take my QCC out, I'll have a nice alternative that I wont feel so bad about bashing on the rocks. Love these boats!
Winter coming... gotta do a strip! Or atleast thats my little mini-dream/goal.
Looking forward to seeing your kayak!
Smiles, ~Heather
: Heather,
: I am very glad you got everything working again. In your video you
: asked about the opening in station #3 for leg clearance. Well I
: got in touch with the friend who now has my frame and got him to
: measure the size of the opening. What I made was 6 7/8 tall and
: 14 3/4 wide. These were measured at the highest and widest
: points of the opening. Post pictures when you get things put
: together.
: Right now I am building a Chuckanut 15. That is a Dave Gentry
: design rec. kayak for single or double use. I am going to use
: your paint scheme if you don't mind. I like the white hull and
: yellow deck that you have used on your Sea Flea. I skinned the
: kayak yesterday and started the painting. Hope to have it
: finished soon.
: Good luck with the rest of your build.
: Clayton
