My recommendation is to speak to or e-mail Björn directly. He knows his designs, the area and the conditions and would be more than happy to steer you in the right direction. He's very approachable.

I have built five of Björn's boats (3 Black Pearls and 2 Njords) over the past three years. All were built for ocean use and, yet, built lightly. The basic fiberglass schedule was a layer of 4oz glass inside and out with an extra layer on the bottom of the hull exterior and on the floor of the cockpit. Some had more exotic layups but generally 4oz in and out.
